3rd Annual Lancaster Renaissance Street Faire

One of the newest, and feverly celebrated festivals to hit the Western New York event circuit is the Lancaster Renaissance Street Faire. This unique event is in tandem with International Mead Day – a worldwide celebration of mead (honey based and the oldest known alcoholic beverage, dating back to 9000 BC) and all of its “friends” and byproducts.

The annual Lancaster Renaissance Street Faire is hosted each year by Lilly Belle Meads along with The Lancaster Village Merchant Association. This year’s event takes place on Saturday, August 3 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, on West Main Street and Cayuga Creek Park in the Village of Lancaster, NY.

The family friendly event has a full afternoon of renaissance themed activities and performances including:

Performances by Bewitched Buffalo, Nickel City Longsword and Buffalo Aerial Dance at 12:00 and 4:00 in Cayuga Creek Park

Music by Junk Man’s Choir from 1:00 to 4:00 pm

Trivia games by The QuizMaster from 1:30 to 3:30 pm

The Backyard BBQ Throwdown

Over 30 vendors selling crafts, jewelry, food items and more

A stilted jester

An all-ages renaissance costume contest

A kid’s sidewalk chalk contest
