After a two-year pause, additional construction is proposed for the Highland Park neighborhood. The Chalmers Apartments at Highland Park will consist of 175 new apartment units including housing and beds for those who seek assistance due to homelessness. It is the next phase of the larger Highland Park development located at 129 Holden Street where the Central Park Plaza was demolished. The project is proposed on a 5.37 portion of the larger 24.92-acre site.

From the Application:

The Project also includes construction of four two-story townhome style apartment buildings with approximately 20 combined total units located on the southern portion of the Site, just north of Central Park Avenue. Additionally, the center of the Site will include a fenced in playground surrounded by a community greenspace courtyard, as well as 104 onsite parking spaces for residents. The Project will also include landscaped greenspace, accessible pedestrian walkways, lighting, streetscape and other on-Site improvements.
