Healing by the Water Music Festival Returns to Freedom Park

Starting on Thursday, July 11, from 5pm to 8pm, Friends of Freedom Park will kick off the 2004 celebration series known as Healing by the Water. The entire community is invited to attend this special weekly occasion at the Freedom Park Amphitheater. The Thursday evening events feature live music, food, and a vendor’s market – all at an inspirational waterfront venue, which is considered one of the newest reimagined waterfront destinations in Buffalo.

Each year, hundreds of people gather at the waterfront to take part in this free event series. In fact, the Festival has been growing in numbers from year to year, which means that many people opt to walk (from Niagara Street) or bike to the event, since there is limited parking at Freedom Park (formerly Broderick Park, near the foot of Ferry Street).

Live music starts at 5pm, so people are encouraged to get there a little early to secure a seat at the amphitheater.

As for the venue itself, Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper said it best: Friends of Freedom Park have worked to develop the park into a destination for family, culture, and community. Our goal is to restore and transform the park into a welcoming and accessible green space that shares its history. Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper is proud to support Friends of Freedom Park to amplify the history, enhance the beauty, and encourage our community to enjoy everything that Freedom Park has to offer.
