Jason Mraz’s Brings Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride tour to Niagara Falls (ON), promising a great evening for anyone that feels like dancing. (Podcast Included)

Singer-songwriter Jason Mraz is bringing his Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride tour to the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino in Niagara Falls, Ontario on Saturday, July 13th. Known for his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics, Mraz has been a staple in the music industry for over two decades, and is known for his songs, “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry), “I’m Yours” and “Lucky,”

Mraz’s eighth studio album, Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride, marks a return to his pop roots. Audiences at Mraz prior tour dates have been incredibly receptive to the show, dancing and singing along with some of their favorite lyrics, in which Mraz hopes have a deeper meaning, sharing,

“I offer up these lyrics – slash – mantras that remind us to be present. Because I try to make the songs purposeful and I try to make the show purposeful. But, as a songwriter, I’m not doing it because I’m trying to help others, per se, I write these songs to remind myself to not worry and stress so much about the future, and not dwell on mistakes of the past, but try to come back to the moment.  And I write these also because when I am practicing music, you have to be in the moment. You can sing optimistically about the future, and you can sing in ways that recognize and heal your past. But they all are occurring in the moment, and so my songs typically are written because I’m trying to experience the moment, and if it works, and if I can actually transform myself, and heal myself and make myself happy in the moment that I’m playing music… it’s a reminder to me on how I can best live my life and enjoy my life.”

The lead single, “I Feel Like Dancing,” is an uplifting track that encourages listeners to dance without fear. Mraz has been thinking about this song for over a decade, sharing “About 10 years ago, we were on tour with many of the same band members that I’m currently with now, and we would do this bit in the show where it says, “I like to dance and it looks like this,” and we would do our dance move, and then the next band member over would say,

“I like to dance, and it looks like this,” and then do their dance move. And it was a really fun opportunity for personal expression and to remind each other we all danced differently and it’s okay. I’ve tried to put that sentiment in songs past, but that bit of “I like to dance, and it looks like” never left my mind. And I knew that it could someday become a song.”

Mraz kept working on different iterations of the song, and is happy to release it now sharing that ten years ago, it was hard to imagine a song encouraging personal dance and expression because platforms like TikTok didn’t exist. Now, it’s easy to understand how a song can inspire visual creativity, even though music itself is invisible. The song was so powerful that it inspired Mraz to compete in Season 32 of Dancing with the Stars, where he showcased his dance moves and charisma, ultimately finishing in second place.

Mraz is conscious about his guests having an incredible time at his concerts. His shows center the audience experience, and he recognizes the effort fans put into attending—from coordinating with friends and family to dealing with travel, parking, and mingling with strangers in a large crowd.  He and his band take great care to ensure that everyone has a great time, sharing,

The goal is to try to just take people on a transformational journey from their head into their heart over 90 minutes. I like to think of it as a yoga class. You might be uncomfortable at first, but we’re going to breathe. We’re going to get through it. We’re going to sing. We’re going to move our body slowly and by the end of the night you just can’t wait to just let it all go. And then take it onward into your life. The rest of your life. Into the next day and into the weekend and into, you know, the rest of the year. To remember to just enjoy the ride and be as expressive as you can or as you want to be.
