Newfane home believed to be total loss after fire

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Newfane home is believed to be a total loss after a fire damaged the structure Friday night, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Officials said the blaze began around 9:20 p.m., with several calls reporting a possible house fire at the home on Ridge Road.

Occupants of the residence were safely assisted out of the burning home by a fire official who happened to be driving past at the time. Several fire companies eventually were able to extinguish the blaze.

An investigation into the fire’s cause is underway.
