The Theater District could be a little brighter if plans for new signage on the Alleyway Theatre are approved. Sign upgrades to the City-owned building are being reviewed by the Preservation Board tomorrow.
Plans include a 35’ tall Blade sign along Main Street similar to a sign that existed on the building when it was a Greyhound bus station. Two 90” x 64” message boards are proposed, one on Main Street one on Pearl.
The existing Main Street marquee sign will be repainted and portions will be reskinned. The neon lights will be replaced with LED lighting.
A rear cabinet sign facing Pearl Street would also be replaced. Flexume is designing the new signage which carries a $50,000 price tag.
