Stitch Buffalo is always accepting donations of materials that they then upcycle, by fashioning the sometimes-eccentric finds into new garments and accessories. So when the ladies at Stitch received a donation of surplus caps from a local construction company that were a bit, say, cheeky, they decided to put them to good use instead of chucking them in the refuse bin.
Not only did the refugee women at Stitch embroider the caps with colorful flowers, they also established the caps’ new mission.
From Stitch:
Women are often encouraged to ignore our own needs and put others first—a situation that, in time, can lead to physical and mental fatigue, burnout, and even illness. When Stitch Buffalo received these caps from a local construction company, we decided to embellish them with hand embroidery and offer them for sale to women only.
