A lighthearted take on traditional Irish Wakes, Irish Classical Theatre Company (ICTC) is thrilled to announce its annual celebration, The Wake, (which is being called, “the party to die for!”). The Wake promises to be an unforgettable evening filled with beer, wine, food, and lively shenanigans, all in support of local arts. This “spirited” event will take place on Friday, August 9, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at The Banshee Irish Pub, located at 257 Franklin Street in Buffalo’s Theatre District.
“Our patrons and supporters are always looking forward to The Wake,” shared Cassie Cameron, Producing Director at Irish Classical Theatre Company.
It’s an incredible evening that has become an anticipated yearly tradition for everyone who attends, and we are really excited to be holding it at The Banshee this year.
Each General Admission ticket provides entry to the event, traditional Irish pub fare, and three drink tickets redeemable for beer, wine, or well drinks. For those wishing to continue the festivities beyond their drink tickets, a cash bar will be available for additional purchases.
A limited number of VIP Tickets are also available and include early access at 6:00 PM, (an hour before general admission), access to special VIP sections within the venue, open bar and private food station, and one entry for a chance to win the coveted “Booze Coffin” Prize. In addition, there will be entertainment and activities, including traditional Irish music, Irish Dancers, a 50/50 raffle, and group photo opportunities.
“We’re excited to kick off our 2024/2025 season at ICTC with The Wake. This event helps us fund our incredible lineup of powerful, intimate stories and supports our patron-focused theatre programs. With ticket sales covering only half of our budget, additional support is vital to keeping our theatre thriving and bringing exceptional performances to our community,” shared Cameron.
All attendees must be 21 years of age or older. IDs will be checked at the door. Payments at The Banshee Irish Pub can be made with cash or credit. An ATM is also available on-site for convenience.
Whether attendees are long-time supporters of ICTC or joining the event for the first time, The Wake invites everyone to celebrate Irish heritage in style while supporting the arts in Buffalo. With fantastic food and drinks, along with traditional Irish music and dance, The Wake is an event not to be missed.
Tickets for the event can be purchased here.
