The Tool Library’s Gather, Garden + Grow Party and Fundraiser Returns on Aug. 3

The Tool Library is thrilled to announce the return of its highly anticipated annual event, Gather, Garden + Grow, slated to take place on August 3rd. Held at The Plot Flower Farm, a unique community asset that was created using borrowed tools from The Tool Library, the event celebrates the community’s dedication to sharing resources and promoting sustainability. Attendees will enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities:

Local cuisine: Delicious food sponsored by The Lunch Box, alongside beer and wine.

Floral beauty: Take home fresh-cut floral centerpieces handcrafted by The Plot.

Fun activities: Garden tours, pot painting, button making, lawn games, and more.

Exclusive merch: The latest merchandise from The Tool Library will be available for purchase.

Fundraising: Basket raffles and experiential silent auction items will be held to support The Tool Library’s mission.

In the true spirit of a garden party, attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn blankets, chairs and dishware (silverware, plates and glasses) to minimize waste and maximize enjoyment. These items will also be provided at the event for those who need them.

Contributing to a greater cause:

All proceeds from this event will power The Tool Library’s initiatives, from tool lending and workshops to tree planting and community revitalization endeavors across Western New York. Additionally, support will fuel the organization’s ongoing capital campaign, aimed at securing $1 million to purchase and renovate its home at 2626 Main Street.

About The Tool Library: Established in 2011, The Tool Library was born out of a desire to provide affordable access to tools for home improvement projects. Today, the organization has more than 1,700 members and nearly 5,000 tools. In 2023 alone, it loaned out 19,478 tools, saving members $730,889 and offsetting over 1.2 million pounds of carbon emissions. Additionally, through initiatives like Service Days and Dare to Repair Cafes, the organization collaborates with community groups to enhance shared spaces and teach valuable repair skills, fostering sustainability and resourcefulness.
