For the second year running, University at Buffalo’s Anderson Gallery will be hosting its annual Parking Lot Party, held in conjunction with the University Heights’ Samuel P. Capen Garden Walk. This even has turned out to be the perfect way to enjoy a day filled with gardens, art, family-friendly activities, and art. The event is Anderson Gallery’s way of extending its cultural offerings outward, into the neighborhood.
“As a hub of artistic and educational activity, UB Art Galleries is thrilled to host the second annual Parking Lot Party as a gateway to deeper community interaction and cultural participation,” said Robert Scalise, UB Art Galleries Director. “We welcome families, students, and residents from across Buffalo to join us in celebrating the vibrant spirit of our community and the impactful exhibitions installed at UB Anderson Gallery this summer.”
Explore The Exhibitions:
History is Present: Zorawar Sidhu and Rob Swainston’s exhibition of big and bold woodblock prints confront and contextualize modern social challenges and the history of printmaking as sites of dissent. This exhibition is located on the first floor of the gallery.
Looking Up: An exhibition of artists’ celestial interpretations from the UB Art Galleries permanent collection. This exhibition is located on the second floor of the gallery.
Looking Down: A site-specific installation designed by faculty from the UB School of Architecture + Planning, Zorawar Sidhu and Rob Swainston, and UB Art Galleries staff for the recent eclipse will cast beautiful shadows all summer long. Located outdoors.

Family-Friendly Fun: Enjoy crafts, and music.
Art Market: Discover and purchase artworks from UB students and local artists.
Food from Anderson’s Frozen Custard #weckonwheels, featuring all-natural roast beef on weck, handmade ice cream cones, shakes, malts, and sundaes.
