Arrest made for party at unlicensed establishment, triple shooting occurred in October

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — An arrest has been made in connection to an unlicensed liquor establishment that was the site of a triple shooting last October during a party, the Buffalo Police Department said Tuesday.

Three people were shot at an establishment on the 1500 block of Clinton Street in the early-morning hours of Oct. 29, 2023.

Police said Tuesday that the establishment the party was at did not have a permit or liquor license and did not provide proper security for a large gathering. Charles Garner, 49, was allegedly promoting the party and is charged with two counts of criminal nuisance for his alleged involvement in promoting parties at unlicensed venues.

The three that were shot, two men and one woman, were all treated and released for their injuries.

Buffalo police said that they are continuing their investigation of this incident and other unlicensed venue events were more shootings have occurred.
