Buffalo PD officer hospitalized after hit-and-run

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo police officer was briefly hospitalized following a hit-and-run on Tuesday night, according to police.

Police said an officer responded to a call in the area of Michigan Avenue and Edna Place just before 10 pm. While at the scene, the officer was sideswiped by a vehicle that was not related to the original call. The vehicle fled the scene.

The officer was transported to ECMC by ambulance, where he was treated and released.

The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information on the vehicle is asked to call or text the confidential TIPCALL line at 716-847-2255.
