BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo police said they tracked down a fleeing suspect with help from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, Air 1.

This past Friday night, Ferry-Fillmore district officers said they received a call about a man with a gun. Air 1, which was already operating, found the person in question while they were fleeing on foot, police said.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Buffalo man Brandon Hinton, was apprehended at the corner of Genesee and Doat. Additionally, police said they recovered a handgun that had been reported stolen out of Atlanta.

Hinton was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property.
