Cheektowaga man who possessed 200,000 images of child pornography sentenced

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Cheektowaga man was sentenced to prison time after being convicted of possession of child pornography involving a prepubescent minor, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office announced.

Officials recovered over 200,000 images and 95 videos of child pornography at the residence of 49-year-old Michael Daly in October 2020. Daly was sentenced to serve four years in prison and 25 years supervised release.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a report about an uploaded image of child pornography online in June 2019. The image was traced to Daly following further investigation, according to officials.

Some of the images included prepubescent minors and depictions of violence, officials said.

Additionally, Daly was ordered to pay $23,000 in victim-related assessments.
