Cozy Up To The Lounge Shop in Larkinville

Sarah Desmone

Lounging has come to Larkinville. Sarah Desmone, owner of The Lounge Shop, has brought a world of comfort to Millrace Commons, in the form of a super cozy collection of Buffalo-inspired loungewear. When it comes to the art of lounging, no one has done it better than Sarah. She has curated a shop that focuses on the sentiment that we should all be comfortable and stylish, no matter what setting we are in.

It’s readily apparent that Sarah is a big Buffalo booster. She literally wears her love of Buffalo on her sleeve, and everywhere else. While not everything in her shop is Buffalo-oriented, I must say that there are numerous Buffalo items that are extremely eye-catching. All of the clothing looks super comfy, which is why so many of Sarah’s marketing messages spell out “… there’s no place quite like home.” Although, if you find yourself out and about, you might as well rock clothing that makes you feel right at home.

The Lounge Shop opened in Larkinville this past November, and brought with it a missing element that all commercial districts should have… shopping! And what better time to open?

“The area is coming so alive,” said Sarah. “It’s the hot spot to be.”

I asked Sarah how she came to open her comfy-cozy boutique, and she responded that she was working as a wedding planner during the pandemic.

“I was working from home, on Zoom calls,” she told me. “I didn’t want to wear typical work outfits, so I began to create my own loungewear. I took graphic design courses in college. I set out to design clean, minimal sweatshirts – outfits that were versatile. I wanted to create clothing that could be worn out to dinner, or lounging on the couch… a fun, neutral brand. Comfortable and relaxed.”

Sarah began printing the clothing out of her home a couple of years ago. Even today, at the shop, she has a small print studio in the back where she prints.

“I still print half of the clothing that I sell,” said Sarah. “But the high demand means that I have outsourced half of the orders to a local screen printer. All of the clothing is made with love in Buffalo. I love the printing process. During the holidays I was doing print on demand. Customers were coming in and asking for certain items. I was mixing and matching, coming up with their favorite color schemes. I get excited when I see people wearing the clothing at places like Wegman’s, when I’m shopping. It’s a great look. When you wear outfits from The Lounge Shop, you feel good and look good, while representing the city of Buffalo.”

For those in the market for sherpa wraps, shower steamers, and slippers, look no further than The Lounge Shop. Other lounge-inspired items include mugs, bath bombs, candles, sweaters, skincare, Champagne cubes, glassware, sherpa pullovers, jewelry… the only thing that’s missing is a portable fireplace.

Not only has Larkinville evolved, so has Buffalo-branded fashion. If you’ve been looking for the ultimate in stylish comfort, while sporting the authentic Buffalo look, The Lounge Shop has got you covered.

“We have everything that you need for lounging,” said Sarah. “Along with the everyday luxuries of life.”
