Drive-Through ‘Days Park Tavern BBQ Dinner’ to Support One of Buffalo’s Most Iconic Churches

A fundraising effort to preserve one of the city’s most iconic churches has become a more unified effort in 2022.

In 2019, the church held its first drive-through BBQ dinner event, which turned out to be very successful. This year, the BBQ dinner is being served up by two of Buffalo’s newest restaurants. Days Park Tavern will be preparing the pulled pork barbecue, while Big Big Table will be doling out scratch cookies. It’s a win-win for food lovers, as well as preservationists.

The landmark E.B. Green designed First Church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is also listed on the Medina Sandstone Hall of Fame.

In recent years, the Richardson Romanesque church – designed by E.B. Green designed – has suffered degradation issues with its roof, as well as its tower. Thankfully, there have been a series of fundraisers to help secure the building, including the annual barbecue dinner. The funds raised via this event will be directed towards vital ongoing repairs.

The drive through fundraiser will be held on Tuesday, April 26.
