Elmwood gift shop collecting eclipse glasses to donate

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Not sure what to do with those eclipse glasses? Instead of the trash, you could give them to a good cause.

Thin Ice, a gift shop on Elmwood Avenue, is collecting them for schools in Latin America. There, they’ll be given to children to view the October 2024 annular eclipse.

Thin Ice is located at 719 Elmwood, between Cleveland Avenue and W. Ferry Street. They are open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday and 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Watch the clip below, where on Wake Up, we revealed the results of our #Just4Fun poll asking people what they’re doing with their solar spectacles.
