Fire causes over $100K in damage to Buffalo home

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Saturday morning fire caused roughly $115,000 in damage to an occupied residential structure on West Avenue in Buffalo, fire officials said.

Officials said the blaze started around 4:30 a.m. at 1045 West Ave., originating on the house’s first floor. The fire also caused around $10,000 in exposure damage to a neighboring building at 116 Auburn Ave.

The Red Cross is assisting five people as a result of the fire, and its cause remains under investigation, according to officials.
