Former teacher pleads guilty to child porn charge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A former teacher has pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Monday.

40-year-old Anthony Giambrone, of Kenmore, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography involving prepubescent minors. In April 2020, while working as a teacher with Erie One BOCES at Maryvale Intermediate School, he had around 1,052 images and 381 videos of child pornography on two separate laptops.

He was placed on leave at the time of arrest and no longer works at the school.

He faces up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced on Aug. 27.
