January Event Guide | Comedy Trivia, Cake Decorating, Documentary Screening, Patty Griffin, and a World Premiere Play

If your resolution for 2023 was to enjoy more of what makes Buffalo an incredible place to live, keep it with this event calendar!  January offerings include trivia nights, a world premiere play, Grammy® winning concerts, comedy, and cake decorating.  There is no way to be bored in the Queen City this month!

Enjoy a pint at this nano-brewery while playing a unique game of trivia.  Created in 2011 by comedians Casey Grim and Adam McLaughlin, aCoupleofN3rds is a comedy sketch duo/trivia show focused on bringing local entertainment tailored to the unique communities throughout the Buffalo area. Their trivia nights are fun, where the right answers are wrong and stupid answers get you points.

O’Connell & Company presents this World Premiere!  Buffalo’s favorite playwright Tom Dudzick’s piece concerns Peter Witkowski’s attempt to rekindle a romance with his childhood sweetheart, Irene. Throw in a psychic child, an iconic Buffalo Blizzard, and Dudzick’s trademark humor, and you have a recipe for a great evening of theater.

Artist LeRoi Johnson’s vibrant compositions are bold pieces that feature African, Caribbean, and South American cultural influences depicting dreams, visions, African ancestry, and various otherworldly elements.This documentary explores the life, work, and career of the internationally acclaimed local artist as he prepares for the opening of his collaborative retrospective exhibition LEROI: Living in Color at the Burchfield Penney Art Center.
