New Year Activities and Events: Resolutions, Truffle Making, Prom Stories, and more

The snow is melting, and the holidays are over.  January can be a month of recovery and rest, but Buffalo Rising has all of your social needs covered.  Whether CrossFit, or meditation, or chocolate, or polka, you can regain your equilibrium in the beginning of January in the Queen City.

Many New Year’s resolutions include getting in shape.  CrossFit Buffalo can help with one of their foundation classes (offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in January).  Learn the principles and form before signing up for one of their packages.

A live taping of WNY’s only local dance television show, Polka Buzz, hosted by Ron Dombrowski, will be at Batavia Downs in January.  This episode will feature The Buffalo Touch, America’s Party Polka Band. This night of drinking, dancing, and gameplay is a great way to start 2023.

Rescheduled from December 23, this “high energy jamgrass band” rocks downtown Buffalo.  This concert celebrates the music of the legendary Allman Brothers Band.  Come on down to Town Ballroom, and “eat a peach for peace!”

An unflinching dramatization of addiction and recovery, People, Places and Things was originally produced at D’Youville Kavinoky Theater. Scott Bieler, West Herr Cares and the Scott Bieler Family Foundation generously sponsor the return of this important piece, which is being presented for free at Shea’s 710 theater.  The play is one of identity, addiction, honesty, and hope.  

Event: 7&7 Storytelling Comedy: Prom Stories
