Party on the Portico Announces 2024 Line-Up! Live Music, History & More at Buffalo History Museum

The Party on the Portico summer concert series is set to return to the The Buffalo History Museum this summer! The evening brings some of the best bands to the museum, and will take place from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on M&T Third Fridays: June 21, July 19, and August 16.

For over a decade, Party on the Portico has been a beloved summer celebration held on the museum’s iconic portico, which offers stunning views of Delaware Park and Mirror Lake. “Party on the Portico is a quintessential summer in Buffalo experience,” said Brian Hayden, the museum’s Director of Communications & Community Engagement. “Our back portico, which we like to call Buffalo’s favorite back porch, boasts one of the most beautiful views in the city and provides the perfect backdrop for a concert. Add in live music by local bands selected by Music is Art, cold drinks, and access to our Museum’s exhibits, and you have the makings of a perfect summer evening in the city with friends.”

Since its founding in 1862, the Buffalo History Museum has been Western New York’s premier historical organization. “Our Museum works to preserve and share the stories of Buffalo and Western New York” said Hayden.  “We showcase our past through interactive exhibits, create dynamic programming that educates and inspires visitors of all ages, and take care of a collection of hundreds of thousands of two-and-three dimensional artifacts that bring the history of our region to life. Buffalo is an extraordinarily historic city, and we love to partner with the community and cultivate an appreciation of that history.”

Those who attend Party on the Portico can enjoy live music, explore the museum’s exhibits, and take advantage of a cash bar and complimentary snacks. This year’s concert lineup is supported by Music is Art, promising an exciting mix of performances.

2024 Concert Line-Up is as follows:

June 21: PA Line with Stephen Babcock
July 19: Damone Jackson Outcome with Diyené
August 16: Miller and the Other Sinners with Michael DeLano

“We want guests to make some of their favorite memories of the summer of 2024 at Party on the Portico. The backdrop can’t be beat and is the perfect place to relax after a long week of work,” said Hayden, adding “The event is also a great introduction to our Museum, providing a chance to wander through our exhibits and learn all sorts of facts about Buffalo’s history that you’ll be talking about for weeks to come. There simply isn’t another event quite like this in Buffalo, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome guests back for another season of great concerts.”

Party on the Portico is an event exclusively for guests aged 21 and over, and it will take place rain or shine. Tickets are priced at $15 for the general public and $10 for museum members if purchased in advance. On the day of the event, ticket prices will increase by $5. Tickets can be purchased online through the museum’s website.

The event is generously sponsored by M&T Bank as part of M&T Third Fridays, along with Community Beer Works, Thin Man Brewery, and Wegmans. Their support ensures the continued success of this cherished community event.
