Pedestrian struck on Buffalo Airport circulatory road in hit-and-run incident

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A pedestrian was injured Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle on a Buffalo Niagara International Airport circulatory road in a hit-and-run incident, airport officials confirmed to News 4 WIVB.

Officials said the hit-and-run took place around 5 a.m. on Luiz F. Kahl Way, when a man walking away from the airport was struck by a “dark-colored SUV” that then fled the scene. The man suffered head injuries as a result of the incident.

As of 8 a.m., the west entrance to the Buffalo Airport off Route 33 was closed, with those traveling to the airport asked to use the east entrance on Genesee Street.

The incident is currently under investigation.
