Pennsylvania man sentenced for raping child in Evans

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced for raping a child in Evans in 2022, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday.

39-year-old Jacob Pearson of Wilcox, Pennsylvania was sentenced to 14 years in prison for raping the child, who was less than 13-years-old at a location in Evans on July 5, 2022. Pearson and the child knew each other.

Pearson pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree rape in December. As part of the sentence, he will be subject to 10 years of post-release supervision and will have to register as a sex offender.

A final order of protection was also issued to be in place until 2055.
