Users can effortlessly interact with the online training and education platform, to enhance their journeys in an array of foodservice professions.

Platform users are encouraged to learn about industry trends and insights, and/or take courses that will qualify them for continuing education credits and/or units from accrediting organizations. The four industry segments that are included in the platform launch are:

Healthcare

In-store bakery

Education

General foodservice

“Rich’s Academy was an idea born during the pandemic,” said Jamie McKeon, senior vice president, demand creation, Rich Products. “As a trusted partner, we needed to create a digital way to continue to deliver innovative solutions and enhanced value to our customers. What resulted is a fantastic resource that will provide ongoing training, skilled instruction and menu innovation to foodservice and bakery professionals everywhere, especially as the industry grows and evolves.”

Continuing education, courses and training examples include, “Breads Around the World” and “Smart Seasoning: Salt,” accredited by the American Culinary Federation, and “Food Allergens & Intolerances,” accredited by the School Nutrition Association. Other non-accredited programs range from “Detroit Style Pizza” to “Time Saving & Production Tips” for cake decorating.

The platform is geared towards cooks and bakers of all calibers, who will have unprecedented access to Rich’s bakery and culinary teams. These teams are versed in a wide variety of culinary trends, including a growing demand for plant-based foods. The Academy also offers a “Culinary Live” webinar series. A number of past events can be viewed online. Example content includes “Beverages and Beyond,” which covers menu trends, and labor saving formats, for example.

Rich’s Academy is now in place to provide people in the food industry with “innovative and engaging curriculum,” for those who are seeking to enhance their technical and leadership skills.
