BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Rochester man has been sentenced to 168 days in jail for slashing the tires of a convenience store clerk during the December 2022 blizzard as well as stabbing two people in a separate incident in January 2023, the Erie County DA’s office said Monday.
Saquan Young, 24, slashed the tires of an employee of a convenience store on the 600 block of Prospect Avenue in the early-morning hours of Dec. 27, 2022. The store had closed due to the blizzard.
Young was given an appearance ticket a short time later, but failed to show up to the arraignment.
Less than a month later, Young stabbed two people inside of a residence on Letchworth Street in Buffalo on Jan. 26, 2023 during an argument. Both suffered injuries to their hands.
In total, Young pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree criminal mischief and two counts of third-degree assault on March 15, 2023.
