Time to help out the Buffalo Snow Brigade

The Buffalo Snow Brigade is a group of volunteers that offer neighbor-to-neighbor assistance with snow removal. Simple enough, right? Well, no. In order for the Brigade to be as successful as possible, the organization counts on people to make donations. After all, volunteering is one thing. Paying for snow shovels is another.

On Saturday, December 31, the Buffalo Snow Brigade is holding a donation drive that is intended to help with ongoing snow removal measures, post blizzard of 2022.  Items needed include snow shovels, garden spades, ice picks, salt and/or kitty litter.

As a way to coordinate, the Buffalo Snow Brigade has established a Facebook group page. For anyone that would like to make a donation…

Items can be dropped off at

West Side Community Services

161 Vermont St, Buffalo, NY 14213

on Saturday 12/31 from 10am-4pm

Snow Brigade forms are below:

If you’d like to ask for assistance: snowrequest2022

If you’d like to offer assistance: snowvolunteer2022

If you can donate to help the volunteers continue this work, please visit the Buffalo Mutual Aid Network (BMAN) (Coalition for Economic Justice). As of 12/27/22 all donations made will go toward blizzard community response, including grocery delivery and Snow Brigade support.

*Keep in mind that everyone participating is a volunteer. People are working around their schedules to try and help, so be patient and understanding.
