Vehicle strikes house in Lockport, crashes into pole

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Gasport man was arrested for DWI after the vehicle he was allegedly driving struck a house in Lockport, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Just before 4:40 a.m. on Sunday, officials say they received a 911 call regarding a vehicle striking a house on Ridge Road. An SUV was discovered rolled over and crashed into a utility pole after striking the home. The driver had allegedly fled the scene.

The homeowner was inside the Lockport home at the time, but uninjured.

26-year-old Timothy Outten of Gasport was located a short distance away and transported to ECMC for evaluation. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. He was released at ECMC on appearance tickets.

Outten is expected at Lockport Court at a later date.
