BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Tuesday marks two years since the racist mass shooting at the Tops on Jefferson Avenue that left 10 people dead.

News 4 WIVB will have live coverage of a 5/14 memorial ceremony starting at 1:55 p.m., which is being held outside Tops. The ceremony will include the ringing of bells and a moment of silence at 2:28 p.m., the time the attack occurred.

Earlier in the day Tuesday, the store unveiled its new 5/14 Honor Space, located on the corner of Jefferson and Landon Street. The space includes 10 granite honor bollards, one for each of the victims who lost their lives in the attack:

The shooter, now 20-year-old Payton Gendron, is serving life in prison after pleading guilty to 15 state charges in November 2022. The Department of Justice is seeking the death penalty on federal charges.
