Another apartment building is proposed for the Jefferson Avenue corridor. Urban Equity Management Group LLC is planning a four-story building at 1135 Jefferson Avenue north of Dodge Street. The building is kitty-corner to the Johnnie B. Wiley Sports Complex and across the street from two apartment buildings recently completed by People Inc. and Sinatra & Company Real Estate.
The proposed building will include 12,000 sq.ft. of commercial space on the first floor and 33 one and two-bedroom apartments on the upper floors. A number of variances are required for the project including reduced ground floor height from the required 15 feet to 12 feet and to allow four stories and a height of 49 feet where three stories and 44 feet is allowed.
Surface parking is proposed behind the building. ANPRA-Architecture and Kideney Architects are working on the project plans.
