Buffalo man sentenced for 2018 fatal shooting on Genesee Street

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison in connection to a fatal shooting on Genesee Street in 2018, the Erie County District Attorney’s office said Tuesday.

33-year-old Bryant Ziegler, Jr. was sentenced for the shooting death of 36-year-old Parris Warren Jr. on Genesee near High Street on June 3, 2018.

Ziegler pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree manslaughter on Aug. 18, 2023. Ziegler’s co-defendant, 26-year-old Sidney Watson, is currently serving a five-year prison term for an attempted murder conviction for his role.

As part of his sentence, Ziegler will also be subject to four years of post-release supervision.
