Buffalo River Festival to offer rides on the Edward M. Cotter Fire Boat

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Attendees of this year’s Buffalo River Festival will have the opportunity to take a ride on an iconic piece of Buffalo history (and present).

At 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on June 16, rides on the Edward M. Cotter Fire Boat will be offered.

The fire boat was first built in New Jersey in 1900 and is still in use by the Buffalo Fire Department today; widely considered the oldest active fireboat in the world. In 1996, it was designated a National Historic Landmark.

The Buffalo River Festival will take place at Buffalo River Fest Park at 249 Ohio St. For more information you can call Peg Overdorf at (716) 553-8350.
