Fire leads to emergency demolition of Clarence home

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A two-alarm fire on Friday led to the emergency demolition of a Clarence residence, the Amherst Central Fire Office announced.

Officials said the blaze began around 12:45 p.m. at 6380 Strickler Rd., when a caller reported black smoke coming from the home. Crews arrived on the scene and eventually requested additional resources and firefighters.

The fire caused an estimated $300,000 in damage and eventually required the emergency demolition of the building. Its cause is under investigation.
