Jamestown teen accused of attempted break-in, threatening to kill victim

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Jamestown teen was taken into custody Thursday night after he allegedly attempted to break into a residence while threatening to kill the victim, the Jamestown Police Department announced.

Police said they arrested 18-year-old Devin E. Haskell, who was allegedly attempting to force entry into a residence when authorities arrived on the scene following a 911 call.

An investigation revealed Haskell, who did not know the victim, allegedly threatened to kill the victim multiple times and called them racial epithets, according to police. It is alleged that Haskell caused $1,500 in damage to the victim’s residence.

Haskell was charged with:

Second-degree attempted burglary

Second-degree criminal mischief

Second-degree harassment
