Man pleads guilty to hitting, injuring pedestrian in 2021

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to hitting and injuring a pedestrian in Cheektowaga in 2021, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said Monday.

Timothy Wagner, 29, admitted to hitting a 60-year-old Depew man on Losson Road near Wedgewood Drive on the morning of April 19, 2021. The man was hit from behind as Wagner veered onto the shoulder. Wagner also left the scene without reporting to police and was found later that day.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he underwent multiple surgeries for his injuries.

Wagner pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of reckless driving. He faces up to one year in jail when he is sentenced on June 20. He was released on his own recognizance.
