Second Chic’s $5-$25 Outlet

Second Chic, a consignment store that sells new and recycled fashion for women and men in the WNY area, has opened its first $5-$25 Outlet location at 1871 Elmwood Avenue (near corner of Hertel). Designer/entrepreneur Annie Adams and her sister Lara Martin came up with the new concept as a way to handle the overflow of clothing that has been donated by consignors.

“The outlet gives the clothing and accessories one more chance to sell,” said Adams. “We hoped that by opening this outlet location we would be able to serve a new community that doesn’t shop at our two primary locations in the Elmwood Village and in Williamsville. Everything is priced between $5-$25 with monthly colors 50% off.”

While Second Chic’s $5-$25 outlet is the final stopping point for the clothing and accessories to sell, there is one last hurrah for the merchandise that can’t find a home.

“We were, and still are, donating what hasn’t sold to Clara’s Closet for the refugee community,” mentioned Adams. “The two Second Chic locations were overloaded with donations in December, and we were scrambling to find places that could take all the merchandise. What didn’t sell in December was donated to Clara’s Closet, located in the basement level of Central Park United Methodist Church at 216 Beard Avenue in Buffalo.”

Aside from selling super discounted clothing and accessories, Second Chic’s $5-$25 Outlet continues to accept items from the community.

“We are accepting clothing at the outlet with no appointment necessary,” noted Adams.” When a customer brings in items, theyr receive store credit on the spot that they can use at any of the three locations! There’s no need to wait for your items to sell, like the other two locations.”

Second Chic has been a mainstay for consigned clothing for years, and continues to be a leader in expertly curated second hand sales in Western New York. TNow, the new $5-$25 Outlet adds another thrifty way to source sustainable fashion that might otherwise never see the light of day.
