Convicted felon charged with guns, coke possession

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man who was arrested in 2022 has been faced with new criminal possession charges, according to Buffalo police.

On May 24, 2024, a search was conducted by the Buffalo Police Department’s SWAT team and the Buffalo Police Intelligence Unit at an E. Delavan Avenue address. In April of 2022, 47-year-old Michael Thomas was arrested for criminal possession charges at the same address.

Two weapons, ammunition, around 224 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia were recovered on Friday, police said.

Thomas was charged with the following:

first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

second-degree criminal possession of a weapon

third-degree criminal possession of a weapon

second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia

seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

In 2022, Thomas was charged with five counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
